How to maintain stainless steel crimped wire mesh

Oct. 24, 2024

The weak corrosion resistance of the passive film on the surface of the stainless steel crimped mesh forms pitting reaction due to self-excited reaction, generating small holes, and the presence of chloride ions forms a strong corrosive solution, which accelerates the speed of the corrosion reaction. There is also intergranular corrosion cracking inside the stainless steel, all of which damage the passive film on the surface of the stainless steel crimped mesh. Therefore, the surface of the stainless steel must be cleaned and maintained regularly to maintain its gorgeous appearance and extend its service life. When cleaning the surface of the stainless steel, it is necessary to pay attention to not scratching the surface, avoid using bleaching ingredients and abrasive detergents, steel balls, grinding tools, etc., and rinse the surface with clean water at the end of washing to remove the detergent. People are closely related to stainless steel in their daily lives, and the use of stainless steel crimped mesh has become more extensive with the development of the economy. However, many people do not know much about the performance of stainless steel, and know even less about the maintenance of stainless steel. Many people think that stainless steel will never rust. In fact, stainless steel has good corrosion resistance. The reason is that a layer of passivation film is formed on the surface. In nature, it exists in the form of a more stable oxide. That is to say, although the oxidation level of stainless steel varies according to different use conditions, it is eventually oxidized. This phenomenon is usually called corrosion.

Weak detergent or warm water washing; trademarks and films on the surface of stainless steel, and soap can be used to remove dust and dirt that is easy to remove on the surface of stainless steel crimping mesh. Use warm water and weak detergent to wash, and use alcohol or organic solvents (ether, benzene) to scrub the adhesive component. Grease, oil, and lubricating oil pollution on the surface of stainless steel should be wiped clean with a soft cloth, and then cleaned with neutral detergent or ammonia solution or special detergent, and rinsed with water immediately; bleach and various acids are attached to the surface of stainless steel. Then soak with ammonia solution or neutral carbonated soda solution, and wash with neutral detergent or warm water.
